The Quikmount fastens to the bottom of the DCP and Porta Paddle (hardware included for both) allowing use of 3M's* new Dual Lock* fastening system. This stuff fastens instantly as does Velcro, but is non-polarized (both sides are the same) and is totally rigid. Tiny mushroom shapes in the two halves mate with an audible "snap" and the paddle feels like it is bolted down. The tested tensile strength is 8 times that of Velcro. You really have to feel it to believe it.
The adhesive on the back of the fastener forms a strong bond with the mounting
surface, and is high temperature resistant. It will bond with most surfaces
except soft plastic. When bonding to a surface, after cleaning the surface,
join two halves and remove the backing from one, using the other to press into
the mounting surface. Pressing the mating surface itself will damage the
"mushrooms" in the mount. When both mounts are on the plate, peel the backing
from the mated fasteners and press the whole assembly into your cleaned
mounting surface.
